Jain Monk Cup
This Jain monk wood cup is hand lathed in Rajasthan by the Kharadi muslims for use by the Shwetamber sect of Jain monks. The white robed monks renounce all worldly possessions and in a journey of humility travel by foot with their cups seeking followers who fill them with something to drink. This wood cup called “bhiksha patra” are lathed from local rohida wood prized for its dense grain and strength. This cup is delivered finished with olive oil. We recommend to continue oiling the wood with any cooking oil to keep it’s strength and color before and after use. Each cup is one-of-a-kind and your order may be a different grain than pictured.
