About
waanaki, which means ‘to live undisturbed, to live in peace’ in Ojibwemowin (Anishinaabemowin), is an online shop that focuses on hand-selected vintage pieces for children between the ages of zero and six. Our intention is to bring you wearable, stylish pieces that you and your child can breathe new life into. Children grow quickly; buying vintage, deadstock and gently used clothing, reduces waste and helps lower your carbon footprint.

We offer excellent pre-worn vintage pieces, that have been washed and are ready to wear, along with vintage deadstock, which are shipped in their new/unworn state with original tags attached/unattached. We also embrace unique vintage pieces that may have slight imperfections, which we will describe in detail on each item.

In addition to our vintage clothing offerings, waanaki also carries select new clothing; vintage and new homewares; handmade/wooden toys, books and periodicals; and a selection of accessories that are new, vintage, rare, or one-of-a-kind.

Sizing
Vintage clothing is often untagged, or has been sized by standards no longer in use. All clothes and shoes have been sized approximately by age. We recommend measuring your child for our sizing guidelines, which are in keeping with today’s US standards. Each child grows at a different pace, so please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the fit or description of any item.

Measurements
TOPS: for shoulder measurements, we measure shoulder-arm-sleeve-seam to shoulder-arm-sleeve-seam; for chest measurements, we measure underarm-seam to underarm-seam; for length, we measure from top-shoulder/neck-seam to bottom-hem.
BOTTOMS: for waist measurements, we measure full-waistband (from side-seam to side-seam, front and back); for inseam, we measure from crotch-seam to bottom-hem.

Shoe Sizing
Shoe sizes 0-3.5 are categorized under ages 0-1; shoe sizes 4-5.5 are categorized under ages 1-2; sizes 6-7.5 are categorized under ages 2-3; sizes 8-9.5 are categorized under ages 3-4; sizes 10-11.5 are categorized under ages 4-5; sizes 12-13.5 are categorized under ages 5-6; and sizes 1-3 are categorized under ages 6+.

Payment
We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), PayPal, and e-checks, which are all processed through PayPal in US dollars (California residents are subject to 9.00% sales tax). You do not need a PayPal account to make your purchase. Your transaction will be safe and secure using PayPal, which automatically encrypts your confidential information using Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available).

Shipping
FREE STANDARD SHIPPING (Domestic and International) on ALL orders $75+. Domestic orders are shipped Parcel Post (1-2 weeks) or USPS Priority (2-7 days) with delivery confirmation. International orders are shipped USPS First-Class (1-3 weeks) or USPS Priority (2-10 days) with tracking. All orders are packed with care using reused and recycled packing materials.

Returns
We do not accept returns or exchanges unless an item has been described inaccurately.
